Canon IID 2!
The Canon rangefinders of the late 1940s and early 1950s are Leica-compatible screw-mount cameras. Many were brought to the U.S. by servicemen who bought them while visiting Japan during the Korean War.
The Canon IID 2 is a 35mm rangefinder camera produced in the 1950s as part of Canon’s Leica-inspired lineup. It features a combined viewfinder and rangefinder with a 1x magnification, making focusing easier compared to earlier models. The camera supports Leica screw-mount (LTM) lenses and has a cloth focal-plane shutter with speeds ranging from 1s to 1/1000s. Unlike the Canon III series, the IID 2 lacks slow shutter speeds, making it a more streamlined option for photographers who prioritize simplicity. Its solid metal construction and precise engineering make it a reliable choice for vintage camera enthusiasts.
