Canon Datematic!
The Canon Datematic is a compact 35mm lens-shutter rangefinder camera released by Canon in 1974, notable for its lightweight reinforced plastic construction and a built-in mechanical date-imprinting feature.
- Type: 35mm auto-exposure program EE rangefinder camera
- Lens: 40mm f/1.8 (5 elements in 4 groups)
- Shutter: Seiko ESF electronically controlled, speeds from EV 1 (4 sec at f/2.8) to EV 17 (1/500 sec at f/16)
- Film Speed Range: ISO 25 to 400
- Weight: Lighter than metal-bodied peers like the Canonet G-III series due to reinforced plastic components
Date Imprinting: Allows users to stamp dates onto the lower-right corner of the film frame using dials on the lens barrel. The years only run up to '83, making the feature largely obsolete today.
