It offers good flexibility, allowing you to shoot on MiniDV tapes for high-quality digital video and also capture stills or low-res video to SD/MMC cards. Thanks to its small, palm-friendly form factor, it’s quite portable. It uses a single CCD image sensor and supports both SP (standard) and LP (long play) tape speeds, making it useful for longer recordings when tape capacity is a concern.
