Kiev 4 AM with the original case!
The Kiev 4AM is a Soviet-era, 35mm rangefinder camera, produced by the Kiev-Arsenal factory from 1979 to 1986. It's known for being a copy of the pre-war German Zeiss Ikon Contax III. While sharing many characteristics with the Contax, it's also considered a modernised version of the Kiev 4A, featuring a hot shoe and a self-timer.
Specifications:
- Lens: Typically comes with a Helios-103 53mm f/1.8 lens or a Jupiter-8M 50mm f/2 lens.
- Lens Mount: Contax bayonet mount, allowing the use of Contax lenses.
- Shutter: Focal plane shutter with speeds from 2 to 1/1000 second, plus bulb.
- Rangefinder: Coupled viewfinder/rangefinder for accurate focusing.
- Exposure Meter: Uncoupled selenium cell light meter (for the Kiev-4M, not the 4AM).
- Other features: Hot shoe, self-timer, removable back with base plate.
